Camp Features

  • Low athlete to coach ratio and consistent, personal interaction with Heat coaches and student athletes
  • Concentration on sport fundamentals
  • Daily games and contests, including shooting contests
  • Emphasis on sportsmanship and team play
  • Visualization and mental preparation for athletes

Registration

Registration fee covers the cost of camp instruction and T-shirt. Athletes/parents must log-in to their online account (returning campers) or create a new user account (first-time campers) to register online with credit card. Registration can also take place in person, with cash or cheque, at the UBC Okanagan gymnasium. Registration is on a first-come, first-served basis and space is limited, so register early. Late registrants within 2 weeks of camp start date may be accepted if there is space in the Camp. However, T-shirts are not guaranteed for late registrants. Sorry, we cannot accept post-dated cheques.

Refunds

Full registration refunds, minus a $25 administration fee, may be issued up to 2 weeks prior to the camp start date. Cancellations after this date due to medical reasons will require a doctor’s note and will be dealt with on an individual basis. Absolutely no refund, for any reason, will be accepted after 12pm on the Friday prior (3 days before) to the camp start date.

What To Bring

  • A well-labeled sport-specific ball
  • We have a limited number of soccer balls & basketballs available to lend; submission of ID will be required. Volleyballs will be supplied.
  • Appropriate shoes (clean, non-marking shoes for indoor sports & field cleats for soccer), socks, shorts, T-shirt, & water bottle
  • Lunch and snacks

Health and Fitness

Sport camps can be an intense physical experiences. Applicants should come to camp in sound health and in a reasonable degree of fitness. While all reasonable care has been taken to ensure the safety of athletes, injuries may occur at athletic camps. Beyond providing first-line care, the UBC, the department of Athletics & Recreation and it’s camp coaches/ student athletes will not be liable for injuries.
